- Be creative! Anyone can make a 10000000 dps weapon with +999999 to all stats. Do something interesting, funny, or hell, maybe even balanced!
- Be smart! See that "Speed" option? Use it. Your weapons won't work if you have 0.00 speed. Sure, it'll show on the here as a couple billion DPS, but you won't even get a single hit on a mob if you keep the speed at 0.
- Be smarter! Use a valid DisplayID! DisplayId = model id. If you don't use a valid one, your item will be a checkered cube (or it won't show up period)
- Be smartest! Use relatively normal numbers when making items. Putting 999999 can cause crashes, instability, and all kinds of calculation-related issues (ie: never being able to hit, criting for 0, etc). You don't need a weapon that does 2000000 damage... one that does 2000 is just as good.
- Be unique! Don't make the same exact item as somebody else... try something different! Originality goes a long way around here.
- Be accurate! Name your item with correct capitalization, spelling, and grammar, and you'll have a much higher chance of getting them downloaded.
- Q) What is with this "No Icon" image on my items?
- A) This means the item is using a non-existent displayid
- Q) Why was my item/comment/screenshot deleted?
- A) If an item doesn't follow our rules, it is purged from the database. Sometimes you will receive a warning, depending on the nature of the reason. The PM with the reason is a courtesy, not a requirement of our moderators. Complaining will result in a suspension.
- Q) My item stats are different in the CID than they are when I created the item.
- A) Report it on our forums and we'll take a look.
- Q) How do I add these items to WoW?
- A) This site is for WoW PRIVATE SERVERS, not the Official servers. The items are added by executing the downloaded batch (the .sql file) onto your server's database.
- Q) Where did you get this CID system?
- A) It was custom coded from scratch by Sickboy and is not available for purchase or download (unless you're offering enough for him to retire )
- Q) Why is there a delay when I hover on item names?
- A) The content is dynamically loaded on the spot, so there is a lag time depending on your connection speed. You should be seeing a small orange icon, which is to let you know the page is loading. Some browsers have issues displaying it, however.
- Q) IE6 and IE7 make this page look weird!
- A) While we strive to make this site 100% compatible for all browsers, in the end there are always unfixable issues. This site is intended to be used with Mozilla Firefox.
- Q) Where are the sets?
- A) Set submission is not yet implemented. We'll make an announcement when it is.
- Q) How do I delete an item?
- A) Use the "Delete this Item" button at the bottom of the item's page (below the comment section).
- Q) I made my item "Blizzlike/Funserver" when it should be the opposite!
- A) Contact an admin or (if the item is obviously supposed to be in a different category) just wait for our moderators to work their magic. We review every item, so it'll end up where it needs to be.
- Q) What is this "modbox" I hear about?
- A) The ModBox is the custom content management system admins and moderators use to review new items, comments, screenshots, and sets. Unless you are a moderator, you won't have access to it.
- Q) Where is the entry/spawn id?
- A) You choose this when you download the item. You'll know if you didn't enter one as it will error out and not allow you to have any download options.
