What will happen when we go live:
- 2.0 files will be erased (NOT the databases! ALL items, comments, screenshots, etc. will remain).
- "Creation Station" and "Testing Grounds" posts will be completely removed.
- "Files" section downloads will be permanently removed.
- 3.0 beta forums will be wiped (as will all avatars and signatures created)
- The remaining 2.0 forum posts (and users) will be transferred to the 3.0 forum software.
- All transferred 2.0 posts/forums will be put into an Archive parent forum. They will be read-only.
- All 3.0 files have to be updated with new absolute paths (so the first hour or two of the transfer might result in a lot of "Page not found" issues).
- The new 3.0 forum structure (excluding the "Archive" section) will be created.
- 2.0 0, 1, and 2 votes will be transferred as -1 point/rep for the item/author.
- 2.0 8, 9, and 10 votes will be transferred as +1 point/rep for the item/author.
- Author ranks will be recalculated to take the 2.0 vote transfer into consideration.
The transfer will be this weekend (perhaps late tonight) and while it happens a LOT of errors, missing pages, bad connections, etc. will occur. This cannot be avoided based on the COMPLETE recreation of the site and all errors should be ignored until we announce the completion of the transfer. After that, we will have a "Bug Report" section specifically for users to let us know about broken sections of the site we might have missed.
