Don't think that's an issue... That's pretty much how it is supposed to be imo.

I mean, if you get to keep the dyes you made at the start, you can just pick the best ones (Like Black Dye) and never have to buy / trade for dyes ever again.

Think it's better that you just get a taste of what you can do with dyes as a start, but once it's past that point you have to work for it.

People do change taste and style you know...some colours are not going to be cool forever. Besides, you still need to make alts and shit.

Also, I believe the dyes you pick at character creation will only follow you through your social clothing, not your armor. Only your start set maybe.

If that's the case, then I'm fine with it.

And sure, people will maybe want to change etc. But if it's anything like old Guild Wars, there will be dyes that are more rare and better than the others. Such as Neglected (I think it was?) stated, black dyes in GW1 was basically a currency because of how after sought they were.

Dyes were definitely the currency of the realm in GW1, like SOJs or pjems were in Diablo 2.

Dyes are unlockables now. Every player starts with a specific set of colours, depending on the race of the player. Starter palettes if you will.
Players will be able to unlock new colour sets as the game progresses.
The idea was that you can change the color of your armor on the fly through the Hero menu.
