Just a quick little thread here. I am going to post Beta info on this thread.

First of all:
I have played GW2 beta today, even though I am not supposed to tell you that!

However, I found out that during the beta (At least so far) You can only play on your homeworld, when you join, which means, that during Beta we will most likely not play with each other

But we will certainly play after Beta!

For a moment I was going "Wait, did the beta start today?! I don't have an invite!".

Do not scare people like that. It's just cruel.

And that's too bad. But in one sense I don't miss it too much. Since that means I can play with my other friends from IRL as well. Since they don't really want to be part of any huge "group".

Well, today is a stress test, but technically it is a beta.
Just a very short one, to test the capacity of the servers

6 hours is relatively short.
Rumour has it, that a beta might be April 20th, but Anet have not confirmed any date.

There is going to be a BETA the 27th of April to 29th.

That's weird... I did have it signed up, but I would at least expected them to have emailed me that I was allowed to participate. +.+

Yeah, their beta forums won't load for me at all.

If you have pre-purchased the game then you can access any beta forward, so just download the client I provided, so that you are ready for another beta, whenver it comes around.

How big is the client exactly?

11.5 GB, but the actual client is 20 gb or so.

So, you are going to stream a lot of the content, but from what I've experienced today with full server load all the time, there was NO problems whatsoever in that department. Had a few login issues, but that is to be expected during Beta.

I'm glad we upgraded our internet a little bit. Else I would be downloading at like 400KB/s

Almost done. Although, I presume the 6 hour beta is long over by now.

Yeah it is. It wasn't really beta, it was a stress test.

Edit - Ugh, I just noticed do you have to re-download after every time you shut down the game?

I downloaded the client, started it up, waited for it to finish (~ 1½ hour), closed and now it wants to do it all over again. ._. <- Nevermind this, solved it.

Yeah yeah, more people say that it will be released 20th of april. Well it's 22th of april now and nothing is released here.
Anyways, I downloaded the client you dropped but it just closes itself. :#

No one said the game was to be released 20th of April.
Said there might be a BETA 20th of April. But we have a confirmed beta date of April 27th to 29th.

And the client I put up might not be usable any more, as they instructed everyone who will get in to this beta, will be emailed with details.

I know you said that, all I wanted to say is that most of the time you shouldn't believe crap like that lol.
Hmm ok. They ofcourse just edit some things so we can't use it :$

You seem to be very oblivious when you make posts lately.
Try read the posts proper, and do some research if you have to, before posting. It will save you a lot of trouble in the future

They haven't sent me a single mail so far since I pre-purchased... I am not sure I can trust them with giving me materials if they were supposed to have given me stuff already. <___<

This. I cannot explain how much I am bursting with excitement. What makes it better is that I only have 7 hours of school this week, so I have an easy week and then an entire weekend of jizzworthy gaming..
