It's one thing when you watch yourself and think you suck, then you watch a recording of yourself and you're like "WOAH I DO THAT?"

That was my reaction when I covered the Megadeth Duke Nukem theme.

Well it is more or less because it is music. It just takes practice, commit to memory and time. In a sense it is easy, but at the same time it is very, very demanding.

Anyways, any music remade with electric guitar is almost guaranteed to be win as long it is done properly.

I discovered erock when he made the MLP cover and people spammed it on my FB wall, then I just started watching all of his other vids. He's a great guitarist, and definitely disproves the "When you play fast you lose quality" theory in Guitar. I want to know how the fuck he has the tone that he does. He surely has like two or three amps going at once not to mention the backing tracks, god he must have a ton of pedals too.

It's also nice to see a guitarist be able to smile and have fun while playing, you have to practice the song alot and memorize it by heart to be able to do that.

He does the backing tracks in a virtual drum set, or in rare cases, the drummer from his band records it.

Backing tracks don't only consist of drums. They consist of bass and rhythm guitar (and in some cases other lead tracks).

He has to use the drummer or the drum machine, then record the rhythm, then record it all together as the video itself.

He does the lead guitar live, and then he does the other tracks too, yes.

As I understand it, you usually put down the baseline, then the drums and other necessities for the track, before the lead guitar.

Bass and Drums can be switched around.

Some people even do it in other weird ways

My process is:

Figure out the riffs I want to play
Create an order of riffs,
Find transitions

Record all the riffs together using a metrenome
Add the drums
Add the baseline
Add the lead.

Pretty much.
