I'm not sure if I put this post in the right section, but here it is.
I have found a way to make custom Items in a way that no longer involves ADB editing.
Patch the customs directly into the MPQ files and modify WoW.exe to read the customs.
Now, how does this benefit us you might ask?
We can easily patch our own customs into MPQ files, but the problem would be the WoW.exe modding.
If you are able to extract MPQ files, open and edit DB2 hex files, save them and repack them into MPQ for each game locale without corrupting the filehash, then you will be able to do this.
Apparently that is how Mond-WoW (Now Dragonmaw WoW) does its customs.
I hope this helps!
Again, sorry if I had put this in the wrong section.

We have been aware of this for awhile now, Zachary, the problem with this is that it is just too much work for something that should be simple. To unpack, edit, and pack the MPQs every time would be a huge pain in the ass and in the end a waste of time and resources.

What purpose did that serve in Any way?
And like BB0 said, too much work for the average player.

On the server I work on, our developer patched our Cataclysm core to have customs exactly how they were in WotLK, so no client side editing is needed.
