I'm having some problems when it comes to opening some sockets, and with alot of PCs the program doesn't automaticly ask for admin rights, so my question is: Can I somehow make my program manually request administrator rights from the user?
[Java] How to request administrator?

Afaik Windows will automatically ask if you try and connect over a network.

And if the user clicks no? How can I make it do stuff based on that? And what about anti-virus software? A couple of my friends have tried it and it doesn't work for them, I've tested the sockets and they work as they're supposed to, but when they try, the connection simply times out and never asks them for permission to open the socket at any point. I'm not exactly sure what is causing this, I just need a way to work around it, so if you know how, that would be great, thanks.

Probably firewall related.
