Hello everyone, I just got here and i've been looking everywhere for something that could help me understand the system.
I'm trying to create a guard npc for a trinity core server wearing the kraken armour set and varying between humans and dwarves. I realize that i need to find specific displayid's for this, but so far its all just been very confusing.
I realize this may not be the right place to ask but help is very much appreciated.

Try to fly around in Northrend and look for NPCs wearing those items. Not sure if any of them wear the full set, but that's quite much the easiest way unless someone here remembers the names of NPCs who wear those items.

Is it impossible to create if no such npc actually exists?

Yes, unless you'd like to take Model Editing (not recommended).
Fuck the world and all of it's inhabitants.

Yeah, all models you use need to be already ingame. You can do new models though, but it's quite hard and everyone would need a patch to see the NPC.

Meh. 'Fraid there is no npc with the armour im looking for. Will have to think of something else, they just need a green theme, and preferably dwarven, but humans are okay.

Sorry for the doublepost but i wanted to say that i've found suitable alternatives to the kraken armour guards.
But it seems i can't download a batch for Trinity.

Eatos, I don't have any experience with model editing, I though you had to like first copy a char model, then copy the armor and paste it to the model :D (and the only DBC I've opened was gameobjectdisplayinfo :P) So I'm quite much guessing about model/DBC editing.

Unless you wanna take it to the advanced, where you should check the skeleton and see if all the bones aren't fucking up, as well as the armor not interferring with animations etc (like Blizz didn't do with the Blood Elves and sheathed weapons, mainly 2hs, and shields).
Fuck the world and all of it's inhabitants.
