LoL may expand on the original DotA concept, but it does it badly. I played roughly 20 games of LoL, failed the first game, stomped the second and proceeded to stomp every game after that, and I'm not even that good of a player (1700 PSR / 1750 MMR).

Another thing that I dislike about LoL, new players are at not only a statistical disadvantage with all the perks you can buy to the players who have been playing since it was released, but also at a skill disadvantage. Sure you may argue that skill outweighs the measley statistical advantage someone may have, but it still can influence the game heavily.
The game feels sluggish too, it's not as fast paced as DotA or HoN, and the metagame has been stale for a long time, revolving around "tanks".

HoN's metagame is constantly shifting, when I started playing, all the major competitive clans used to incorporate push builds that made certain heroes very strong and constantly banned (defiler, ophelia), but the metagame completely shifted into a more trilane centric carry farmfest, and now it's shifting away from that into a very gank orientated metagame with all the new ganker orientated buffs/items, and in turn, practically every hero in HoN has had some competitive spotlight with the exception of maybe 3, and the competitive lineups are constantly changing too, unlike DotA where it's the same 30% handfull of heroes used every game, and LoL where a large chunk of heroes are just completely obsolete and outshined in every way by another hero, one that someones payed for (which are always ridiculously strong when first released).

All heroes are readily available for play on HoN, there are no synthetic stat perks before skill is even attributed, sure it may cost $30 and LoL is F2P, but I'd rather pay $30 for LoL and have everything (except the alternative avatars) readily available for play, but realistically it would cost well over $200 to do it with their current system.

Agreed. I tried playing HoN for their "Free Weekend" or whatever and I completely fucked up. Everything is so... Ugly. DotA is much simpler and easier and native.

That's hilarious. I like how moo and I offer points as to why HoN could be better and all you offer are blind bias based statements. I mean the one post you did try and sound sensible was when you said Medusa and Broodmother weren't OP, which is hilarious because if they weren't they wouldn't have been banned/picked in almost every competitive game for last 2-3+ years.

That is hilarious, isn't it? It's hilarious that I'm giving my opinion and you're trying to change that opinion. HoN, DotA, and LoL are all unbalanced. Learn to counter those unbalances and play the game you find the best.

PS - Medusa and Broodmother aren't the OP ones now. I hardly see them picked in pub games. Now it's Huskar and Spiritbreaker. Just FYI.
