Sometime later, HoN appeared. Ok I admit, I love HoN.
Even later (not sure) LoL appeared. I was dissapointed of it, I farmed enough points for Cho'gath then I quit.
Each game has its own pros and cons, and this thread is here to discuss. Well...
Personal opinions:
1. DotA is abit imbalanced (extremely overpowered heroes such as Ursa and others)
2. HoN is epic.
3. LoL is very wierd, I got puzzled by all that stuff such as Ability Power and others.
Share your opinion here.
(My HoN name is Erudax, if anyone minds teaching me a trick, two or....even more.)

Pretty much the only way of looking at it. No bias here at all.

WRONG.
It started from a StarCraft 1 map called Aeon of Strife (thats why DotA maps were called AoS')
I played all three and LoL is the best.

If we're gonna talk about AoS... It trashes every one of these games.

LoL added too much to the genre, made it unbalanced and tried to make it something it's not. HoN just elaborated on it's concept and made some pretty unique and fun heroes to go with it, cleaned up the engine and made it smooth, along with fixing some of the not so good Dota ports too. Other than pure elitism and perhaps devoted fanboyism, I see no reason to play Dota over HoN.

Stop advertising. If your going to post this, make a separate thread for it and don't post it elsewhere. Ever. Again.
This is a warning.

It's a game called AoS... jeez, calm down.
As for the other thread, it's a shooter game. the topic was SHOOTERS. Im reposting the link in the other thread, because it's fucking relelvant. Might aswell do the same for Jettom for mentioning Battlefield.
I'm not even advertising, I personally don't care whether people play the game or not. I'm just telling them it's better than CoD or BF and that's the place where you can check it out.

Your really going to argue with a moderator? As BB said, egg shells man, egg shells.
Regarding this thread, AoS is referring to a generations old, Starcraft map that sparked the creation of DotA, HoN, LoL and whatever other scum out there that decided to leech it's awesomeness. Not some pixel-shooter that is complete irrelevant to this thread.
In regards to the other thread. Yes, it is a shooter thread. No you cannot link to other shooters as this is advertisement. If you want to do so, you make a new thread. The discussion for that thread should stay with the OP. Yes, CoD threads get derailed by BF fans, same with BF threads and CoD fans. While it is frowned on, it's common ground. Throwing something totally different into the mix does not play well.
CoD and BF sit on common ground in regards to popularity, playerbase and graphics style. The game you linked has none of that therefore it is not relevant. Get the picture yet?
I will not warn you again.

Pretty much what I wanted to say. It also doesn't help that DotA has a retarded Reliable Gold system, infinite buybacks (albeit on a cooldown) and retarded heroes like Medusa/Broodmother (overpowered) and Mortred/Leoric (like mindless right clicking, play DotA!). The game is to carry centric/farm forever as opposed to HoN's much more gank oriented game play.

Explain to me how something can add too much flexibility for varied players? So, by that rationale, if a band declares themselves a 'Rock' band, that they have zero flexibility to try and appease a large crowd. Not to mention, most of the time majority of gamers are bitching for more options because everyone gets bored playing the same shit over, and over and over and over...
Adding additional features, like the stats, doesn't make it something it isn't. It is incredibly naive beyond all bounds to limit a game to conform to its' predecessors; if anything, evolving and changing are things that are supposed to happen. If it "revolutionizes" or simply changes how that specific genre was played, then why would you view it in a group with the older methods anyways?
LoL does a fantastic job of keeping old concepts while adding their own spice which I applaud (not to mention it's all free unless you decide to purchase Riot Points). There are indeed champions, suchs as: LeBlanc, Tryndamere and Malzahar, that can be played to an OP level but let's remember this is a free game that's still relatively new.
EDIT: If you have a problem/quarrel with a moderator, take it up with me in a PM and moderators -- do not continue the fight. That discussion ends here, period.

Medusa and Broodmother are hardly overpowered. Medusa can just farm like a bitch and Broodmother is just a lonewolf type of character that gives me the creeps. I very rarely see them picked.
And yes, Mortred and Leoric are very right-click characters, but without the right mindset they can be fucked very easily. Leoric is probably the easiest hero in the game to farm off of, as you kill him once and surround him as his team runs. He can only stun one of you, if he's lucky.
Any hero in LoL, HoN, and DotA can be godly. You just have to play them the right way. And every hero has a counter, you just need to know what that is.

I wasn't saying Leoric or Mortred was OP, merely they are horribly designed heroes that lack any depth other than MAYBE somewhat varied item choice (which is a stretch).
Also the competitive scene highly disagrees with you. Heroes like Broodmother (arachnaphobia much?) and Medusa are 100% auto banned, and if not always picked. In the carry centric environment with tri-lanes and reliable gold Medusa has the ability to have such a great early game farm and to scale so incredibly well into late game and dominate whole teams by herself that it is just retarded. With Broodmother you can literally push to the base at level 7 in under a minute or two, not only that but carry extremely well late game with an incredible passive and grossly unnecessary ultimate. Then there are other overpowered heroes like Necro'lic and Doombringer.
Sure there are some arguably overpowered characteristics to one or two heroes in HoN, but nothing to the gross overpowered level that is seen in DotA.
Other than balance HoN heroes are just much more balanced and well designed in HoN. More on this later I have an exam in an hour.
