Many of our forum regulars already know about the somewhat open beta of the in-development version of WoW-V "v4".

Until now, the only way to access it was to use special links, which, unless you bookmarked, were annoying to get to. Now we have the v4 forum skin in working condition, and mostly skinned, so we've opened up the ability for users to choose it.

Using the v4 skin will give you instant access to all the v4 areas, but pages that aren't developed yet still link to the v3 version.

If you want to start using v4 in all its glory (and trust me, there's a lot of it), just go to Controls -> Look and Layout Preferences. Then, at the top, click the link that says "(change)" in the Current Theme section. Select "v4" from the page you are directed to (it's at the bottom) and bam, you're good to go!

If you want to switch back to pure v3, follow the same steps and change your skin to "Forum or Board Default".

DO NOT switch to the "Classic YaBB SE Theme" theme, as it will cause errors and is not integrated at all with WoW-V.

For users using IE8: DO NOT run the site in "compatibility mode". It was designed to work with IE8 (as well as Firefox, Chrome, and Safari), and using a mode that simulates older versions will cause layout issues and other various errors.

There are a LOT of changes, so if you're having issues, please let us know. Note that some sections are still in development (in particular: areas that need to be skinned in the forums, such as the PM area), so please refrain from bugging me about them needing to be updated.


v4 is a drastic change. If you don't like it compared to v3, sorry, but v4 is what WoW-V will become. People hated v3 when it first came out, and now it's almost impossible to imagine going back to v2... the same will happen here. I just ask that you guys keep the hate comments down to a minimum. Suggestions and minor changes? Sure. "blahblahihatethis" and "boohoo, v3 is better" and "ugh, blue sucks, use ____ instead"? No.

on a side note, for anyone using IE8 (or any version for that matter) go here and look for the green button and then follow the steps.

Well i just made an item with the new V4 item creator and i have 1 issue when i go to share its i have to zoom way out on my screen to get to the accept thing caz it will not let me scroll down enuf kinda anoying

thank you what im trying to say is when i make an item on the item creature with the v4 skin i do all the stuff and submit it then hit share the you all know you have to accept the turns thing well i cam scroll down yet i can't hit the accept thig caz from the look of it my screen is ether 2 small or 2 big so i have to use firefoxes zooming out fatcher and zoom way out to hit the accept button.

To clarify:
Thank you. What I was trying to say is that when I make an item in the Item creator with the V4 skin enabled I type in all the necessary information and then hit submit. As we all know you have to agree to the terms before you can share it. But I can't press the accept button. Either my screen is too big or too small. I have to use Firefox' Zoom feature to actually see the Accept button.
